Thai Youngster, Thanawat “Shane” Promwaen, delivered an outstanding performance, stealing 2nd place in the Under-19 category and an impressive 8th place overall at his latest wingfoil competition in Taiwan Penghu.
At just 9-years-old, Shane was the youngest competitor in the field, underlining his incredible talent and massive future potential for representing Thailand.
Despite the challenging weather conditions, including strong winds of up to 25 knots, Shane pushed forward, competing through the pain of a foot injury for his podium position.
This event was a great chance to prove himself at high-level competition, and the achievement and experience takes him ever closer to his ultimate goal of representing Thailand in the Youth Olympics.
Shane returned to Thailand on Tuesday, ready to continue his training and prepare for the next competition.
